A lot of people ask what is Ceramic Coating? Since ceramic coating is a relatively new technology in the automotive industry, a lot of people are still learning the benefits, downsides, and purpose of it. So, lets explain a little more about what it is, what it can do for you, and some of the costs and time commitment associated with it.

What is Ceramic Coating?

Ceramic coating is a clear liquid that is applied in a multi-step process, that adds a hard secondary layer over your vehicles factory clearcoat. This coating protects your vehicles factory paint from scratches, swirls, sun fading, watermarks, acid rain and other surface contaminants, all while providing a water-resistant layer that deepens your vehicles shine. It is a relatively low maintenance product, and only requires your vehicle to be in the shop for a day or two for completion.

How do you maintain Ceramic Coating?

Ceramic coatings are relatively easy to maintain. Our number one recommendation is to not use any aggressive soaps, or foam brushes on the vehicle. While hand washing is ideal, we know it’s not something everyone can do. You can still take your car to the car wash, pressure wash the vehicle as normal. If you get a bird dropping, it’s best to clean it right away with a quick detailer, to prevent the coating being compromised. The great thing is, with our 7 year and lifetime packages, if you no longer are seeing the benefits of the ceramic, you can always bring it back to us for a touch up.

What does ceramic coating cost in Edmonton?

Ceramic coating costs can vary based on your needs, shop, and brand of ceramic. Most vehicles will require a polish ahead of time, that’s why we include a single stage polish in all of our ceramic coating packages. If your vehicle needs extra correction before the coating is applied, we’re always happy to give a quote for additional polishing. Our standard ceramic coating packages range from our 2 year coating at $599, to a lifetime package at $1499. Again, it really comes down to your needs, and how long you plan on keeping the vehicle. Our most common package is our 7-Year, $799 coating!
